Vital Points in the Region of Sport – Local Strength, Regional Impact
One of the most tangible outcomes of the Veszprém–Balaton European Region of Sport program 2026 is the VitálPont network.
These initiatives, which provide local community spaces for physical activity, are not one-off events but year-round programs— in small towns, cities, and for multiple generations.

What does VitálPont mean?
CloseVitálPont is part of the Region of Sport 2026 program, a local exercise and community hub where regular, organized exercise programs are held year-round, available for free or at a discount.
A VitálPont can be an outdoor space, an indoor venue, or a series of programs, but in every case, it is based on the needs of the local community.

Who are VitálPont programs intended for?
CloseVitálPont programs are not intended for a narrow circle of athletes, but rather for as broad a cross-section of the local community as possible.
Based on the projects listed in Excel, VitálPonts specifically target:
- kids and young people (e.g., children’s gymnastics, youth sports programs),
- active adults (yoga, Zumba, group workouts),
- older adults (senior gymnastics, Nordic walking, gentle exercise),
- beginners and those with no prior athletic experience,
- as well as families and multi-generational communities.
One of VitálPont core principles of is low entry barrier: the type of movement can be tried out, learned, and restarted, without competition, in a supportive environment.

Permanent Vital Points – Local Activity Centers
Permanent Discussion Points are key components of the Veszprém–Balaton European Region of Sport 2026 program, operating consistently throughout the year. These are local activity centers where regular physical activity is not just an occasional event, but rather a part of the community’s daily life, and viewing exercise as a source of joy, a means of maintaining health, and a social experience is a common feature.
Exercise has become part of everyday life
One of the most important outcomes of VitálPont programs is that physical activity is not treated as a separate activity, but as a natural part of everyday life. In many VitálPont cases, physical activity is also linked to other daily activities: social gatherings, cultural events, walks, hikes, or family outings. Thus, sports are not a standalone “task,” but rather a point of connection among people in communities.
Success stories aren't over yet!
The programs of European Region of Sport 2026 are constantly expanding — with new venues, new communities, and new shared achievements.
