Spotting greater white‑fronted geese, greylag geese, a variety of duck species, and white‑tailed eagles in the Nagyberek on a free walk.
Overview
🌿 In connection with World Wetlands Day, a field walk sets out across the Fehérvízi Marsh and its surroundings in the Nagyberek—one of Hungary’s Ramsar sites. The walk focuses on the importance of wetlands, related conservation aspects, and insights from recent restoration efforts.
🦆 The winter birdlife of the marshland offers an impressive sight. Large flocks—often in the hundreds—of greater white‑fronted geese and greylag geese are likely to be seen, along with numerous overwintering duck species and the raptors that pursue them, including the frequently observed white‑tailed eagle.
