Would you like to experience what real competitive sailing is like?
The goal of the “Sail Away!” program is to give participants a firsthand look at the
world of competitive sailing and to let them experience firsthand the difference between
recreational sailing and active competitive sailing.
During the program, we organize sporty sailing workshops and amateur
course races using Jeanneau 349-class cruising yachts, which can accommodate 12 people and are also suitable for racing.
Participants do not take part in the program as passive passengers, but can try their hand at being
active members of the crew.
During the sessions, everyone can learn about:
- the boat’s structure,
- basic safety rules,
- deck duties,
- handling the sails,
- using ropes and winches,
- as well as the basics of racing situations.
Each session begins with a theoretical briefing at the marina, after which
participants can try their hand at specific deck positions. During the
practical sailing sessions, the continuous rotation of tasks allows everyone to
gain experience in multiple roles.
Each session concludes with an amateur regatta.
