There is huge interest in the European Region of Sport tenders

The main objective of the Veszprém-Balaton European Region of Sport 2026 program series is to literally get the region moving. Local communities, associations, local governments, and businesses play a key role in this mission. That is why we have announced our competitions, which form the backbone of the program series and are already extremely popular.

Alíz Markovits, CEO of VEB2023 JSC., emphasized that the level of interest in the tender has exceeded all expectations. More than two thousand communities, organizations or people have already registered on the Region of Sportonline platform, either starting to plan their projects or finalizing their applications.

Innovation in sports

One of the most important legacies of the ECoC year is that culture can be experienced not only within four walls, but also in alternative, unusual venues. This innovative approach continues in the programs of the Region of Sport. Among the entries received, there are many real curiosities that take sport out of its traditional spaces.

An excellent example of this is the unconventional Húszas futás/Twentey Run, where organizers hold a stair-running competition in Veszprém's iconic building, the Twenty-story building. Such extreme challenges are particularly valuable because they can motivate people who would not necessarily visit a traditional gym or athletics track.

We have designed our application system to flexibly adapt to the diverse needs of the region:

  • Active Communities: this is currently the most popular category. Sports clubs and institutions can submit their creative ideas, so this is where the greatest competition for resources can be expected.
  • Opportunities in Sport: social responsibility and inclusion are particularly important to the Region of Sport. We are looking for initiatives that create sporting opportunities for people with disabilities or those living in difficult circumstances., such as dance, swimming, or any other sort of exercise.
  • VitálPont: this category is specifically aimed at small settlements. With its help, local communities can implement exercise programs that last all year round. As a result, yoga, Pilates, and Nordic walking can become established in villages where no similar organized programs were previously available.

The deadline is February 25.

Although time is running out, those who are looking for work now have not missed out on anything. The deadline for submitting entries in the most popular categories is February 25.

Alíz Markovits stressed:

Our staff are available for professional consultation until the deadline. We will help you fine-tune your ideas and answer any technical questions you may have. After submission, a formal review is followed by a professional evaluation. Although the processing time is a maximum of 60 days, we will do everything we can to speed up the process so that the winning programs can start as soon as possible.

Don't delay! Browse through the calls for applications and submit your application as soon as possible!
