Introduction
The Balaton Association is a regional, local government-based organization that works to protect the interests of 164 settlements in the Balaton Special Üdülőkörzet (Balaton Special Protection Area).Balatoni Kiemelt Üdülőterület (Balaton Priority Recreation Area) comprising 164 settlements. The aim of the association is to promote the harmonization of interests, cooperation and joint action between local governments in the region. cooperation and joint action in the interests of the sustainable development of Lake Balaton.
The organization's activities include environmental protection, tourism development, water quality protection, transport, urban development and the representation of regional interests at national level.
