Introduction

Csehbánya is a hidden village in the Bakony region, where natural landscapes, historical landmarks, and local traditions blend harmoniously. Nestled in the valley of the Torna Stream, the village’s past is evoked by the glassworks founded in 1761 and the medieval Hölgykő Castle. The Mária Chapel, war memorials, and the Trianon Memorial Park hold cultural and communal significance, while the surrounding forests and hiking trails offer opportunities for active recreation.

Location & Accessibility

The village can be reached from Városlőd via a paved road branching off Main Route 8. Several bus services operate daily from Veszprém and Ajka. The area is also well-suited for exploring on foot or by bicycle.
