The Dalai Lama – The Teaching of Happiness

An intimate and deeply inspiring documentary film, which can also be interpreted as the last film appearance of one of the world's most respected spiritual leaders. The film's protagonist is His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, who, at nearly 90 years of age, sits down face to face with the viewer to discuss the simple questions of life— happiness, suffering, peace, and compassion with a directness and wisdom that is both timeless and urgently relevant.

The film is not a traditional biographical portrait or collection of lessons, but an uplifting journey in which one of humanity's greatest thinkers looks into the camera – and thus into us.and thus into us. The film shows us, against the backdrop of the state of the world and its global environmental, social, and moral crises, how we can still live with hope: by seeking the source of happiness within ourselves, and thus finding the key to the solution and also provides practical guidance simple coping techniques that can be incorporated into everyday life for those who strive for a more balanced and harmonious life.

"I have never seen footage of His Holiness where he looks so directly into the camera and shares his views on the world. Fascinating images." Richard Gere
