This is where you belong - Fighter’s Run
Real places. Real opportunities. Real encounters.
The series showcases initiatives made possible with support from the Veszprém–Balaton European Region of Sport 2026 program— real places, real opportunities, and the people who work day in and day out to ensure that sports are truly accessible to everyone.
This time, we’re not offering a regular training opportunity, but rather the chance to participate in a friendly competition. We are delighted that, as part of our work, we are constantly approached by service providers and coaches who would like to give experiences to kids with special needs and show them that they, too, have a place in recreational sports—that they are just as capable as their peers. Inclusion is non-negotiable.
Introducing Fighter’s Run — Fun Sports for More Than Just Kids
Eplény Fighters’ Run takes place on the distinctive hills of Síaréna Vibe Park and along winding trails in the tranquiity of the ancient forests of the Bakony Hills— and the beautiful fall scenery makes the experience even more special.
With eight different events to choose from, you can easily pick the one that suits you best. Depending on the difficulty level, our courses range from playful, moderately difficult, or a serious challenge, but no matter which one you choose, the attention paid to the competitors and the excitement factor are always the same.
In which age groups can children participate?
The young wolves still have a lot to learn before they can find their place in the pack; at the Fighters’ Run Wolf Cubs races, they can compete in four age groups. Support staff accompany them, so they can safely navigate the course alongside experienced pack members.
AGES 4–14.99 ÉVES – FAMILY RACE: distance: min. 1 km, max. 1.5 km. Each kid must be accompanied by one family member; no timing or awards. We recommend this race primarily for kids ages 4–6, but older kids may also register, provided a parent or guardian is present;
6–8-YEAR-OLDS: a distance of at least 1 km and no more than 1.5 km, without parental accompaniment, timed, with prizes in the Alpha race and no prizes in the Beta race;
9–11-YEAR-OLDS: min. 2 km, max. 3 km, without parental accompaniment, timed, with prizes in the Alpha race, without prizes in the Beta race;
12–14-YEAR-OLDS: min. 2 km, max. 3 km, without parental accompaniment, timed, with prizes in the Alpha race and no prizes in the Beta race.
For the most motivated and results-oriented participants, we’re organizing the Alpha race, where we’ll award prizes to the fastest boys and girls in each age group. We recommend our Beta race to everyone for whom the joy of completing the race is the primary goal.

“Wolf Cubs Children’s Race” races are accompanied by adult runners; even the youngest kid currently running at the back of the pack is always motivated by an accompanying runner. In case of an emergency, the kids can turn to them, and they will notify the medical team. If a kid with special needs is registered, it is essential to coordinate with the organizers so they can ensure safe accompaniment.
